Marine Passage Forecast
Our seven day Virtual Buoy forecasts are great if you are regularly traveling around a fixed location. But if you are under way or waiting for that perfect weather window for a passage, you'll want to know what the weather will be like at a future location and a future time. The marine passage forecast is a system that provides forecasts for the places you expect to be in the future.
There are three file format options: global wave, Mediterranean wave, and a global weather file. To get the best marine passage forecast, we recommend you check both the wave file and the weather file. They both provide a valuable insight into your marine passage future. Enter the latitude and longitude in decimal format(not degrees, minutes, seconds). Use a minus sign to indicate southern latitudes or western longitudes. No letters like N, S, E, W go in the input box. Also make sure there is no leading blank space there or you'll get an error in your marine passage forecast data. If your wave file comes up all zeros, it means your point is too close to land. The wave models border is well offshore. A description of the files can be found in the Virtual Buoy section.
